Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Prof. Pryor 10/27/17 Idea Napkin No. 2 1) 1) My name is Andrew Lanza and i'm a fourth year student at UF studying Business Administration w/ a specialization in pre-law & Spanish. I'm a loquacious person with a good circle of friends who like to go outdoors, watch football, and most importantly, spend time together. Because of this lifestyle, I spend much of my time on the go, and I always like to be hydrated. With a tumbler in hand anywhere I go, I'm bound to spill, which tends to happen to me 2-4 times a week on average (clumsy). The cupholder would stop me from spilling in the car, in addition to preventing me from paying attention to anything but the road while I drive. It would be a perfect addition to my car, and could actually save the lives of some users! My aspirations for my car cupholder business are to prevent spillage in the life of others like myself, especially in one's car. I believe in this concept because I know it wo...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Prof. Pryor 10/27/17 Create a Customer Avatar My prototypical customer really could be anybody, but it would be most suitable for someone who commutes a lot, and would need a stable cupholder for all their driving. They drive a practical car, something that gets them to and fro efficiently and safely. The car is probably blue, or silver. They have kids, and they very well could be adopted. Their favorite book is A Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy . They're socially progressive, but politically conservative, with no party affiliation. They're in their thirties or forties, and spend time taking their kids to and from school and soccer practice with much need for stable cupholders.  I think a hardworking attitude is what I have in common with my avatar. I think the commuting we both do is the number one thing we have in common. This is because ultimately, the product is designed for drivers, and that's the number one most important thing I...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Prof. Pryor 10/20/17 Elevator Pitch 2 1)   https://youtu.be/uhM_AEEbdOg 2) I thought that from my feedback from last time, I was able to speak more fluidly in this recording. My product still doesn't have the in -depth information specifics that I might hope for, but i'm no engineer.  3) Like I said, I think I spoke more fluidly this time. I didn't dress as nicely, which might be considered a drawback, but it really helped me feel casual and comfortable pitching.

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Prof. Pryor 10/20/17 What's Your Special Sauce? 1) I think that I have some good human capital in a couple unique ways. Here's what I could come up with: a) I think i'm a compassionate person b)I think that i'm an ambitious person c) I think I am an honest person d) I think i'm an extroverted person e) I think i'm a goal-oriented person 2) https://soundcloud.com/user-38867311/doug-interview-ent-1 -My brother doug said I was really good at convincing others of the point i'm trying to get across. He said if I fervently believe something, I can make others believe it too.  https://soundcloud.com/user-38867311/josh-int-ent-1 -My friend Josh said I was outgoing and friendly. He said that he felt comfortable around me from the day he met me, and that he thinks I have some really good social personality traits. https://soundcloud.com/user-38867311/alex-ent-interview-1 - My friend Alex said that I am one of the more...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Professor Pryor 10/9/17 Reading Reflection No.1 For my first reading reflection, I decided to learn about billionaire engineer genius Elon Musk. Elon Musk Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future is a biography of Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance, and an option on our reading list, which I quickly took the opportunity to learn about.  1)  a) When reading  Elon Musk Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, I was thoroughly impressed by the magnitude of ventures Elon Musk has captained, and how fearlessly he tackled any situation. What most surprised me about Elon Musk would have to be about his upbringing and childhood. He came from decent means and had family that loves and cares about him, but his childhood was "miserable". Musk even declines to talk about it to the biographer for much of the book. It seems to have helped him adapt to difficult situations very well, but it certainly surprised me to read about what growing ...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Professor Pryor 10/9/17 Figuring out buyer behavior pt. 2 1) For this assignment, I thought about what types of drivers would be best market for me to approach. Because the cupholder product I'm marketing is for people who tend to bring beverages with them wherever they go, I asked myself where drivers might do this most. Since i'm from Florida, I like to have water with me because it's always hot outside. I decided to interview three of my peers (with similar enough lifestyles to myself) about their water consumption, and more specifically, about their need for this product.  2) I found that when talking to my peers about the product, each person had a somewhat different approach in their buying behavior/preferences. However, all three cited price, quality, and style/ergonomic effectiveness in their list of questions about the product. I believe price was the most concerning to my peers. The price of the product was by far the most talked...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Professor Pryor 10/9/17 Halfway Reflection 1) I believe that this course has helped me pay attention to niches where a potential product could make waves and be successful. I think this course has helped me think more intuitively. It helps me think both like a consumer, and a marketer/producer.  2) I feel like this course has made me feel like giving up more than once, but particularly in the beginning. In the beginning, I did not know where I wanted to go with my product. I knew it would be important as the semester went on, so I wanted it to be sustainable and interesting for me to work on. I knew the class was a very open forum, so I resolved by coming up with what I thought would be a useful product. I believe this class has made me more tenacious, and I have found myself looking for more ways to achieve things than I might have previously. 3) my three tips are:       a) believe in yourself: You might think you're not...

Andrew Lanza ENT3003 Professor Pryor 10/3/17 Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1 1) For my product, the practicality only really applies to one segment of society: drivers. If you aren't a  driver, then this product wouldn't be useful to you at all, unless purchased as a gift for a driver. 2) 3) The need awareness for this product, unfortunately, tends to arise only after the problem has occurred. It is when a driver spills his or her drink in the car when turning too quickly or an abrupt motion causes the cup to spill. 4) The first thing they do to fix this problem is usually just not bringing a drink at all in the car. Often, it is fixed by getting a new mug that fits their existing cupholder, or holding a drink in between their legs (which is even less safe). If they were to google a solution, it would be 'car cupholder'. 5) I found that the people I interviewed all had this issue but did not tend to do anything to address it because it was either too...
