My Entrepreneurship Story

A very cool time in my life when I was exposed to entrepreneurship frequently was when was attending my high school. On our career days, every year, I would sign up to watch the entrepreneurial lecture as one of my three specialization fields I wanted to watch the presentations of. The presenters were always incredible. Super successful, nice guys talking about how they made their idea into something huge was very inspiring, especially it coming from the parents of my peers. One presenter, who came more than once, was Michael Galinski. He is a business owner and entrepreneur from St. Petersburg, FL, my hometown. He invented a certain type of circuit for computers that is really valuable, and then started a company called America II Electronics, which now has over 600 employees and is one of the world's largest producers of semiconductors and electric components (America II Electronics, Inc.)

In ENT3003, I would like to use the work as an opportunity to explore my mind and learn about what it means to be an entrepreneur. It seems like a really cool opportunity to open my mind to a subject matter I never have had as a point of interest/study in my academic career.

  1. Hi Andrew,

Good job on your Entrepreneurship Story. I recommend proofreading your blog post next time before you actually post it, because there were some grammatical mistakes. Have you ever gone to speakers at UF? There are a lot of successful speakers that come to our school and talk about how they created a business. I have gone to a few speakers and they are very interesting, definitely recommend checking them out.

  2. I like that you've had a lot of experience talking to entrepreneurs in the past. I'm sure those speakers and their experiences they shared will help you in this class as you think of your own entrepreneurship goals and expectations. You indicated that you've never had this as a point of study but you seem to have always been interested in this subject since high school, I hope this course gives you a good start into your own journey of entrepreneurship!
